AQUA-L

Welcome to the AQUA-L mailing list -- the Aquaculture Discussion Group! The AQUA-L mailing list is owned by the Aquaculture Association of Canada and is maintained by the Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland. The purpose of the list is to promote discussion amongst individuals interested in the science, technology and business of rearing aquatic species. In the spirit of open discussion, membership in the list is public and unrestricted. Potential topics include: Who's doing what and where? California Marine Protected Areas Network - pronounced simpan, is a discussion group to facilitate information exchange about Marine Protected Areas (e.g. National Parks, National Marine Sanctuaries, Marine Refuges, Marine Reserves, Ecological Preserves, etc.). ELAN

Environment in Latin America Network is a listserver which was established in July, 1994 by the Environment and Natural Resources Working Group of the Latin American Studies Association. Its editors are David Barkin and Timmons Roberts. David Barkin is Professor of Economics at the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana Xochimilco, Mexico, and Senior Fellow at the Lincoln Insititute of Land Policy. Timmons Roberts is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Latin American Studies at Tulane University. The co-chairs of the LASA working group are Janet Chernela of Florida International University and David Barkin.

FISH-ECOLOGY

This is an international computer conference for academic and other personnel involved in empirical and theoretical research and assessment issues related to the ecology of fish and fisheries: All bio-geo-scientific topics, analytical tools and procedures related to fisheries ecology and fish are covered by this network, particularly: behavioral- evolutionary- paleo- theoretical- and community ecology, stock dynamics, assessment and management by applied mathematics, statistics and modelling, mathematical bioeconomics, applied oceanography and GIS, genetics, limnology, chemical ecology, etc. Also, related scientific public domain software is covered in this network.
