RESEARCH FELLOW The Department Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures at Auburn University is seeking candidates for the position of Research Fellow. This is a research job involving professional and technical work at the Auburn University Shellfish Lab on Dauphin Island, Alabama. The lab is currently focused on research with oyster hatchery technology and oyster reef restoration. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: developing and carrying out new research involving oyster culture, breeding, genetics, disease or ecology; preparing grant applications, report writing and journal publications; conducting on going research, analysis of data, publication, creative activity, and providing technical and research support and expertise. The minimum qualifications are a PhD from an accredited institution in Fisheries, Marine Science, Aquaculture or related field. Knowledge of water science is required. Individual must have significant experience working with bivalve (preferably oysters), expertise in a wide range of techniques, methods, and procedures common to the field of fisheries. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated technical excellence and ability to work independently are also required. Candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States by date of employment.
